William J. Paterno

Managing Director

William J. Paterno comes to Mid-Atlantic Surety with over fourteen years of contract and commercial surety experience. Prior to joining Mid-Atlantic Surety, Bill was a Senior Vice President with Summit Global Partners serving as their northeast regional surety manager as well as the national commercial surety practice leader.

Upon his graduation from New England College with a BA Degree in Business Administration, Bill began his surety carrier as a home office underwriter for the American International Group managing large construction surety programs. He later transferred to the New York Regional underwriting office where he worked closely with broker network marketing, underwriting and servicing construction surety clients. He began his broker career with Marsh USA, Inc., serving as Vice President and regional surety manager for the New Jersey and Upstate New York Territory.

Bill is a founding member and President of Mid-Atlantic Surety. He is responsible for producing, marketing, and placement of domestic and international surety accounts. For the past years, Bill has also served as the Surety Bond Manager for the New Jersey office responsible for delivering quality surety brokerage services throughout the country. Fields of competence include large construction surety programs, financial statement analysis, environmental bond programs, international bond programs and marketing of large commercial surety bonds.

Bill is a member of the National Association of Surety Bond Producers (NASBP), Utility Trade Contractors Association (UTCA), New Jersey Business and Industry Association (NJBIA) and the New York and New Jersey Surety Underwriter Associations. He is married with three children and currently resides in the shore area in central New Jersey.
